PHNOM PENH AFTER DARK
Sunday Night at Chaktomuk Walk Street
On Sunday evenings, a stretch of Phnom Penh’s riverside closes to traffic and fills with food, music, families, and people simply out enjoying the night.
Chaktomuk Walk Street is less about checking off an attraction and more about wandering. Follow the crowds, see what is cooking, stop when something looks interesting, and take in a side of Phnom Penh that feels distinctly local.
A Walk Through Phnom Penh
Food is everywhere. Grilled meats, fresh fruit, drinks, desserts, and a few things you may need some convincing to try. Music drifts through the crowd while families eat together and vendors work beneath the lights.
There is no particular route and no real destination. That is part of the appeal. Walk for half an hour or stay for the evening, trying something along the way and watching the city move around you.
It is a simple experience, but often those are the moments that make Cambodia memorable.
